Can Hives Disease Be Cured?
In numerous cases, one outbreak of hives is due to an infection or virus and these disappear within a number of
days to weeks. Some individuals have recurrent outbreaks that happen as an allergic response to a wide range of
factors including certain foods and medications. Most of the time, people find the triggers out on their own
without seeing the doctor. Other times, it is extremely difficult to find the exact cause. And even if they are
mild, they can be very uncomfortable and recurrent. So can hives disease be cured?
In cases of chronic hives, which are hives that persist for 2 months or longer, it is usually harder to find a
single trigger factor. But finding the appropriate treatment is always possible. Hives is generally an allergic
reaction and not actually something that causes the body to become ill. There are so many different allergens that
different people are allergic to. Thus, the cure for hives disease is unlike taking a vaccine. There will always be
a possibility for them to come back.
The aim of most medical treatments is to alleviate the symptoms and to trust that the hives disease will resolve
on its own. Antihistamines, steroids and/or numbing creams may help. However, these generally have harsh side
effects. Because of this, many look into more natural treatments, such as herbal supplements and homeopathy. The
key to treating hives is to find the trigger, avoid that trigger, manage symptoms safely and prevent future
outbreaks through continual management.
